Veterans’ MATES is an accredited continuing professional development (CPD) learning activity for participating pharmacists and general practitioners. Activity requirements are detailed below.

For General Practitioners

RACGP QI & CPD Points

GPs who receive and complete any two Veterans’ MATES topics and complete the activity steps are eligible for 40 Category 1 points.

ACRRM Professional Development Program

GPs registered in the ACRRM Professional Development Program that complete any Veterans’ MATES topic and complete the essential requirements of a clinical audit, are eligible for 16 Extended Skills points.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is an umbrella term for a number of lung diseases that can make breathing difficult. This includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. For many people with COPD, winter can be a time for flare-ups. Your doctor might call this an exacerbation. Even though COPD is a long-term condition, there are things you can do to slow the disease and improve your day-to-day life.
